Obscurix exists so people can express themselves unapologetically. Our designs are for the bold, the ones who raise a middle finger to conformity, revel in strangeness, and celebrate their truth. Standing out shouldn’t be a struggle. And we make it effortless.
Nick and Maria originally founded Obscurix as a web magazine that did deep dives into strange topics. The alternative clothing label you see today was only meant to keep our weird little publication alive. That didn’t last long.
Over the course of a few months, the apparel brand devoured the publication — in a good way.
We filled the spare bedroom of Maria’s house in the middle of podunk nowhere with garment printers on upcycled desks, heat presses on reused coffee tables, and the joy of making clothing for weirdos like us to express ourselves without apology.
Now Obscurix is run by a very small team of goth, punk, grunge, and other alt creatives. We’re scene kids, poets, and artists who grew tired of corporate shills pumping out soulless streetwear while paying their employees bottom tier wages. When we saw the opportunity to change that, we took it.
All of our clothing is designed by people who live within alternative countercultures. And we’re on a mission to reshape how “business” is done — starting with the labor that makes the world go round. We pledged from the start that 80% of our net profits would go to our workers, and we intend to keep that promise as we grow.
We’re a family of weirdos, you and us, and the world is hard enough. Let's change it, even if it's only one t-shirt at a time.
